Be Calm, God is at Work

Just as physical exercises develop our muscles God uses trials to train and develop our character as well. Just as the muscles become weak due to lack of exercises our spiritual life cannot gain much strength without trials and faith in God.

Now God does not delight in making us suffer for the sake of suffering but he knows perfectly well that trials bring out our true nature. For example It is convenient for a man to do good when all is well but his true nature readily comes to light when all is not well.

In good and bad times God wants His children to follow him because His objective in our trials is to build us into perfect and complete characters. Therefore if we are patient and trusting God we will greatly profit from any trial that comes our way.

1 Peter 5:10 says “the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, [will ]perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.

And most importantly we can be comforted that God gives us His assurance to walk us through any trial and not leave us destitute.

The immortal words in Isaiah 43:2 serves as a calming balm:

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.”

Isaiah 43:2

Keep calm! God is at work.
