Tarrying at the place of Divine Promise .

“Tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high,Luke 24:29 “.

When the lord gives a promise he seldom gives the person an idea of how long it will take for it to manifest partly because there is an element of mystery to the supernatural which includes God’s plan for our lives. Matthew 25:13.

To this end, the Apostle Paul said, “ for we know in part and we prophesy in part. 1 Cor.13:9.

Empowerment

Even as the information is shrouded in part by mystery the ultimate goal of God is to build our character in the place of waiting until we are empowered to receive His blessings.

Therefore, it is advisable to leave the fulfillment of the promise to the Lord while we stay in faith concerning what He has said, and in full surrender to His will.

Rest and wait

Anyone who must have the very best from God must learn to rest in the Lord trusting that the Lord can perform that which he has said at His own perfect time Romans 4:21.

He should not in any way help God to fulfill what he has promised because of impatience. This was the tragic mistake of King Saul.

Why is this important? Impatience has always been the enemy of the best intentions of God for man.

We must learn to wait and trust God’s timing because it is always the best.

If a natural mother would turn a deaf ear to her wailing and hungry child because she wants the best meal for her child how much more would our Heavenly Father brush aside our impatience to give us the best meal from His kitchen of promise?

When God is ready to act on our case through the process of waiting which is a process of training, He will ensure that we turned out the most qualified, protected, and strongest wherever he had planned to place us.

Hard Questions

In the process of a painful training two questions would often be asked by God the trainer and man the trainee -who desperately seeks to be bailed out from the baking oven of preparation:

Often a child of God would ask God hard questions as Jeremiah did: “Why is my pain unending and my wound grievous and incurable?  Jeremiah 15:18.

God does not allow pain without a purpose. He uses the painful process of waiting to test our love for him. He disciplines our affection and would ask our restless and vain heart the following question: “Lovest Thou Me More Than These?”  John 21:15.

In other words, Jesus would bless us immensely after we have been thoroughly prepared but He must wean our hearts from the gifts, and focus only on the author of life who is the giver. This is the ultimate goal of divine preparation.

The Lord never forgets any of his children. Even though the promise may be seen as slow and painstaking but the vision is always steadfast, always for an appointed time. Wait!

“For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end, it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Habakkuk 2:3-4.
