The War of the Seeds.

And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.” (Gen. 3:15).

Right from the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, a battle began between good and evil, between the Old Crafty Serpent, Satan, and the Seed of the woman, prophetically, the Church of Christ. (Gen. 3:15). It is also interesting to note that the Bible makes a distinction between the Church of God and the Synagogue of Satan. (Revelation 3:9).

This prophetic word of God has always established two camps on this side of the universe: the Seed of the Woman in God’s camp and the Seed of the Serpent in Satan’s camp.

Obviously, this is a piece of bad news for humanists who like to take a neutral stance between God and Satan- who would not commit to either of the two camps but prefer to rest on their good works.

There is no escaping this division in the ultimate battle between God and Satan, you must belong to either of the 2 camps or be swept away by Satan into his own camp.

Why is this so? Expanding on this, Jesus says: “The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one”. (Matthew 13:38).

Reflecting on Jesus’ word above we have seen how the declaration of war in Genesis 3:15 continues to affect men and shape their decisions: obedience to God like the wheat and disobedience to God like the chaff, co-existing with each other and at war with each other. (Matthew 13:27).

We saw this principle figuratively play out between Abel and Cain; Isaac and Ishmael; Jacob and Esau and ultimately between Jesus, the ultimate Seed of the Woman, and the dragon (Satan) and his seed. – “The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him”.  (Revelation 12:9).

In  Revelation 12:17 the Bible expands on this battle, saying: “And the dragon was enraged at the woman, and went to make war with the rest of her children, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus”.

What does the woman represent above? The Church of Christ. Why is the devil enraged against her? Because the Church holds aloft the truth of God against the enemy, Satan. The Church is that marked line of battle against the enemy, also known as the dragon who had power over men until the birth of Jesus and his resurrection.

God by the death and resurrection of Jesus has given the banner of truth only to the church, the seed of the woman, to overcome the seed of the serpent, the devil. The Bible says: “You (God) have given a banner to those who fear You, That it may be displayed because of the truth” Psalm (60:4).

What is the truth? Jesus, the eternal word of God.

Now the question to you, beloved is: Whose report will you believe? (Isaiah 53:1)?

The report of the seed of the woman (Jesus) or the report of the seed of the serpent, the devil? To live in obedience to the truth of God or to continue in disobedience to the lie of the devil?

The choice is pretty much clear and it is yours to make.
