And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever.
John 14:16
The world is full of troubles and Jesus was aware that Christians would not be exempted from life’s challenges. He therefore graciously provided for us a wonderful helper in the Holy Spirit.
Praying to God Jesus said: “ I am not praying that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one’ (John 17:15).
The indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit empowers and keeps us in the face of attendant challenges in our world. In 1John 4:4 we read: “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world’.
To extol His powers within us, the Holy Spirit does not necessarily remove challenges from our lives but uses the challenges to build our character and faith like rigorous physical exercise builds the muscles and stamina. We can see this similitude in (Is 43:1-2).
But you will have to call on Him for help. Have you asked the Lord for the infilling of the Holy Spirt?
Have you asked Him to help you overcome life’s troubles? Ask Him today, he is ever faithful to come to your aid.
