Our Faithful God.

And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: ‘The words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God’s creation”.(Revelation 3:14).

Faithfulness is a hallmark of God and of his Christ. That is why when we walk with God our walk is certain and not unstable because we walk with a God who is The Rock and whose promise is Yes and Amen.

For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory”. (2 Corinthians 1:20).

David knew about this surefooted walk with God and he was able to say, “The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation”. (2 Samuel 22:2-3).

Concerning the faithfulness of God Apostle James was able to say, “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows”. (James 1:17).

Because God’s promises are constant, we are therefore saved from the uncertainty of tomorrow which can only steal our joy, but we rejoice in His faithfulness even in the face of challenges.

God’s nature is faithfulness and he can’t deny His own nature, it is who He is. That’s why even when we remain unfaithful he abides faithful to His word. (2 Timothy 2:13).

God isn’t led by our feelings or sinful nature but in dealing with us he is led by His faithful attributes. Comparing God’s faithfulness to the fickle nature of man the Bible says, “ God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?”. (Numbers 23:19).

Therefore, whenever our hearts begin to doubt the faithful promises of God towards us we ought to know that none but the enemy of our soul, Satan is at work. By making men to doubt the faithfulness of God towards them Satan succeeds in stealing their joy which is their strength.

God made a promise to a particular family led by Abraham and that promise became generational through Jacob, David, and Jesus. Through this one family, God touched the world through Jesus. God had told Abraham, “In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed because you have obeyed My voice.” (Genesis 22:18).

To whom was the promise? Not only to the house of Abraham but to the world at large, to whosoever believes in God’s salvation. Who is the seed? Jesus, the Messiah and the savior of the whole world.

From the foregoing, there is no doubt that  God’s exclusive tool (Jesus) would make his plan of salvation all-inclusive- an open invitation to the whole world. He has chosen Jesus, the seed of Abraham, Israel (Jacob), and David to be the savior of the whole world.

Regardless of culture and religion, Jesus is God’s only invitation to redemption. There is no other way no matter how men may argue.

Apostle Peter testified to this truth about Jesus saying:

Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.” (Acts 2:36).

And in Jesus, not in any other, lies the sum total of men’s quest for deliverance, and in him lies the answer to men’s age-long question of salvation from their sin and fallen nature. Those who reject Jesus therefore embrace an uncertain future while rejecting God and His faithful promise to save and deliver.

Jesus Christ is the embodiment of God’s faithfulness and love towards mankind. He is calling all to repentance and to renew their faith in God.

Just as it is penned by Apostle John in the book of Revelation this message is another rallying cry to men to embrace the all-inclusive faithfulness of God. John writes: Jesus “ is the Amen—the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God’s new creation”. (Revelation 3:14).
