Your Faith will be tested

Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise”. (Hebrews 10:23).

One thing to know is that as long as we live in this world trial will always come and we have to settle this in our minds.

However when Christians go through trials of faith two things quickly come to their mind: one, they could be in shock wondering if they had sinned in any way to attract a satanic attack, two, they could be afraid of thinking that God had abandoned them.

But these reactions are far from the truth. They are lies spurn by Satan the enemy of their soul to discourage them and draw them back from Jesus. That’s his sole objective in trials and we must know this.

Debunking these myths spurn by Satan the Bible says: “ Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you”. (1 Peter  4:12).

Why do trials come to Christians? Trials come as a process of sifting the wheat from the shaft, a method God uses in growing our faith and strengthening our reliance on him as the only source of our strength and not the things the world offers.

In the process of sifting the wheat from the shaft, separating those who pay lip service to the Lord but whose hearts are far from him the Bible says, “And these are the ones along the path, where the word is sown: when they hear, Satan immediately comes and takes away the word that is sown in them”. (Mark 4:15).

When trials come the way of the worldly-minded they easily fall for the tricks of Satan and the first instinct in their mind is to return to the world and seek help having been discouraged and no longer willing to push on in the faith.

Pulling back easily happens to those who all along equated the saving grace of Jesus to only material benefits.

These are the ones to whom Jesus said: “Very truly I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw the signs I performed but because you ate the loaves and had your fill.” (John 6:26).

To avoid the fatal lies of the devil in the moment of trial Christians must know that they have a duty to stand up in faith if they must escape the arrows of discouragement from the enemy of their soul.

What do we do since we have our own responsibilities when trials come? We are not to just sit back and soak it all in but see it as a time to build our faith in Jesus through the word of God.

It is a lie of the enemy that impresses thoughts upon our hearts that God has forsaken us in the midst of our trials. The only thing the enemy wants to achieve with such thoughts is to pull us back from the word into the world.

The word of God is settled on this matter already and those who hold fast to His word will not be shaken by the lies and noise of the enemy. God assures us that those who cling to him and trust in his saving name will NEVER be forsaken. (Psalm 9:10).

When God says a thing our responsibility therefore is to trust Him and His faithfulness more than we trust our present circumstances. He will surely pull through for us but the choice is ours to make the vital choice to follow Jesus all the way.
